Ep. 69: Orcas Part 1: The Ultimate Apex Predators

This week we look into the most badass predators on the planet. They go by many names the bullies of the sea, the wolves of the sea, killers of whales, killer whales and orcas.  We learn all about orcas in the wild to start off our three part series on them.  There are two main types of orcas, resident and transient, each type has their own ways of doing things and different hunting techniques.  Orcas have some of the most complex social structures of the entire animal kingdom, second only to humans.  We also go over six different hunting techniques including beaching themselves to catch seals, making waves to knock seals off ice, drowning large baleen whales and many more.  Learn all about these awesome animals here!
